Comfortable friendly and good value for money.

the only thing I was disappointed with was that confirmation of the booking stated 11.00am as check out time but was told on arrival that it was 10.00am. This meant that we had to change our plans.

Just a quick visit overnight due to a function. The hotel is just off the motorway and was colse to were we needed to be.

The rooms were not well lit and in both rooms that we booked, my wife had trouble applying her make-up as did the sister-in-law in the other room.

The room was very hot, and thus has a very uncomfortable night. the breakfast not great.

The hotel was in a good location for what we wanted to do. The food was good value in the pub next door and all the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful.

You do get what you pay for - this was a budget hotel and was as expected. Walls were paper thin, damp rooms and although it was not the hotels fault we were woken up by a peacock at the crack of dawn!

A convenient spot, with a pub next door providing food incl breakfast. Good value at the right price.

Room was small especially the bathroom. The bed was very hard and difficult to get comfortable. The window catch was broken and it was not possible to close the window which made it noisy from the road and the local wildlife.

Second time staying at the Hartwood, it seems it depends which room you get, 1st stay was fine no probs at all. The second time not so good, The tv and kettle didn't work and there was no soap in the shower dispenser, The worst thing though was the constant noise all night from what I think was the aircon outside, I hardly sleopt at all and couldn't put the tv on or even have a brew not good! If we could have had a brew there were only 2 tea bags, not enough for two people. I complained in the morning as I only discovered the faults late at night. The member of staff seemed hardly interested at all and just said sorry and made no further comment.

conveniently situated for our business in Chorley, friendly staff, good value for money

Noisy room. Something outside the window buzzing must have been heating or something as it went off around 12 but came back on at 6am.

Leaving it! Walls were paper thin and you could hear everything in th next room. My door didnt fit the casing properly and when someone went into the next room I thought they were coming into mine at three in the morning. My daughters room faced onto the main road and she was kept awake all night by ambulance and police alarms and trafffic noise and drunks in the rooms next and above her. The rooms were supposed to be non smoking but the couple in the next room were smoking and others who smoked went outside and banged three sets of doors to get there. The place was hell.....and the next day we complained to the manager who said there was a night manager on,,No evidence of anyone around as all was closed!

      Staff very friendly

I thought the room was a little small/cosy and no bath.

The rull of room was dark, full of cobwebs where it hadn't been cleaned properly, the carpet was dirty, the bathroom was dirty, with bits on the floor. The towels were damp in the bathroom on our arrival. All in all you need to put a hotel inspector into the property

We arrived at breakfast at 9.30 - no croissants or muffins left, only toast Staff were not discreet or confidential when talking about a trial member of staff being sacked after one hour on the previous night's shift, due to an order preventing her from having contact with children.

the staff although busy, it's actualy a very busy pub/eaterie, were very pleasant and tried to sort out the problems in the room. Food and drink were good and reasonably priced

took ages for the staff to find the key for my room. The rooms are in a seperate building to the pub, luckily, which is very busy. there was no TV remote in the room and when he found one the TV still didn't work. He tried to fix it whilst I was eating, but couldn't. although he offered to move me I was too tired to bother. The room was very small, could hardly sit at the desk because it was up against the end of the bed. The ensuite needs a good clean no one had bent down to clean behind the sink for a long time. Couldn't have breakfast as they didn't start serving until 8am, had to leave without paying in person because the pub was locked up still at 7.30. Advert should explain that it's really a pub with some rooms. It's also called 'The Hartford' not 'Hartford Hall' so drove past it the first time.
